Day Eighty Six

Nothing in science - nothing in life, for that matter - makes sense without theory. It is our nature to put all knowledge into context in order to tell a story, and to re-create the world by this means. --E.O. Wilson, Consilience: The Unity of Knowledge

Day Eighty Five

"And at that moment, I swear I was infinite."

I love Mondays.

Day Eighty Three

La la la, what a lovely day. I toured Palo Verde today, the biggest nuclear power plant in the U.S., and now I'm coughing out the last of the smokey green radon gas. I'm gonna hold off on reproducing for awhile.

Day Eighty Two

Well, hello there. Although you may never see me with
a beard in person, here's an imagining... For Sooth.

Love still exists, even if it's hard for me to see sometimes.

Day Seventy Five

Rorshach's Journal... Well, not really. This week has been
very uneventful and I would not have had it any other way.
And by uneventful I mean I was given the opportunity to
pretty much sleepwalk through every day this week. I went
hiking with two friends on what we Gallupians call the hog-
backs. It was a lot of fun, and needless to say my heart
nearly asploded.

Day Seventy Four

This is Big Stew, the coolest of the cool. This picture emphasizes her bigness and coolness and all around superiority as the greatest Stew that ever lived.
And on another note...
Remember to post your photos this week!

Day Seventy One

Welcome to your Monday.
I hope you had a splendid weekend.
Mine was full of authors and storybook characters at the first ever Tucson Festival of Books.

I was taking a break from ringing up Twilight books and discovered a little child getting devoured by a Berenstain Bear.

Have a good week.
Isn't Spring Break great?

Day Seventy

This is the most random thing that happened all week. It could be the most random thing of 2009... possibly.
So, a whole bunch of us are gathered out on the front porch, just sitting about and having a good ol' time. This bus suddenly drives by. We yell at it. It keeps on going. A couple minutes later, the bus is back and it's ready for some rock n' roll time. The driver, who you can see pictured above, brings the bus to a halt and yells for us to get on the bus. It felt like the right thing to do, so all seven of us go running to the bus, piling on in a frenzy unexpected excitement. Little did we know, the dudes on the bus were members of a local ska band, Kool Shades. They took us on a jolly little cruise around the block.
(I did some nifty photo editing, but you can't see it this small, so click for a bigger view and you can see all the graffiti and whatnot.)

Happy Sunday.

Day Sixty Eight

Spring Breaks here! I'm so happy to be doing absolutely
nothing for the next seven days. I'm back home right now.
It's occurred to me how much of constant this town is, but
I think it's better that there's no new surprises, only rest.

Day Sixty Seven

I found this classy piece of American folk art in the house which I'm sitting.
I'm of the opinion that all pieces of American folk art should contain at least three chickens.
This one barely passes.
Barely.

Day Sixty Six

So i couldn't decide between this and a beautiful back-lit sunflower.
What is THIS, you might ask?

...I dunno, some sick dead bug in the street.

Day Sixty Five

I see the peaks every day and every day they are different. Sometimes they are so beautiful I have to stop until the ache in my chest goes away.

Day Sixty Four

Hello. This is Monday
And what you are looking at is the splendid view from Everest.
Okay. That was a lie.
But it sure felt like I was on top of the Universe.

Let's be grand.
Have a good week.

Day Sixty Three

This is a picture of Wednesday taken on a Tuesday, posted shortly after the turn of Saturday into Sunday. I'm feeling more creative than I have in a long time. That's why I stuck Jesse's head in a glass of water.
